Motorcycle Taxi

on

Motorcycle taxi: You ride on a motorcycle instead of sitting in a cab.

It appeared in china in early 1990s, and disappeared around five years ago because of government ban.

Motorcycle taxi was very popular because:

1) It is very cheap. The price is no more than 10 yuan (correspondingly 1.5 dollar)

2) It is very fast. As motorcycle is agile and small compared to cars, it can dodge the traffic very easily.

3) It is cool (both temperature and excitement). At that time, it was rare for a cab driver turn on AC. You would probably be easily killed by warmness in a cab during the summer. However, riding on a motorcycle brings you breeze along the sides, you were satisfied. Another meaning of “cool”: Imagine you ride a motorcycle on the streets with noise “vroom.” You overtook people, bicycles, cars and everything. Don’t you feel that is cool?

Motorcycle was banned by Chinese government because:

1) It is too fast. As there is speed limit for vehicles on high way, there is for vehicles in the city. However, motorcycles had been always running over speed.

2) It is too dangerous. There is no shelter for passenger and driver, some people didn’t even wear helmet. 40 percent of traffic accidents in China were associated with motorcycles.

This is a reality version of Fate of the Furious: Gone.
